SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER · FULL-STACK PRODUCT

Emily McCabe

I turn ambiguous, cross-functional requirements into clear architectures and shipped product, from discovery through production.

0-TO-1 PLATFORM ENGINEERING

Architecting secure, multi-tenant serverless backends on AWS. Building partition-isolated data schemas, dynamic form configuration engines, and product workflows shaped by how clinical teams actually work.

TELEMETRY & OBSERVABILITY

Building investigation tooling that assembles raw OpenTelemetry spans into trace trees in the browser and keeps them in sync with session replay. Turning scattered technical evidence into views that help engineers keep context.

PRIOR IMPACT

At the U.S. Census Bureau, I built, modernized, and supported 70+ federal data-collection systems serving millions of respondents, and was promoted into supervisory leadership while staying hands-on in code.

JstVision

Conceived and built the investigation workflow that became the platform flagship.

I named the visibility gap problem in fragmented debugging workflows, built a working prototype outside the roadmap, and shipped it as the flagship feature. JstVision connects session replay, frontend events, API calls, backend traces, and errors on a synchronized timeline.

Tempo EMR

Core engineer on a multi-tenant practice management platform for pediatric therapy clinics.

On a small founding team, I built the intake vertical across the stack, from GraphQL schema and Python Lambda resolvers to the React form renderer, along with role-aware workspaces and least-privilege navigation. Co-led a 10,000-record legacy migration and authored a security disclosure to the vendor.

JstVerify

Developer observability platform where I led the product surfaces and conceived JstVision.

Led the product application across investigation workflows, service topology, and the app shell, and shipped full-stack features end to end, including the beta feedback system from its Python Lambda backend to the review UI. Conceiving JstVision moved the platform from dashboard analytics toward a unified debugging hub.

Legacy EMR Migration

Tempo's first clinic needed years of records moved off a legacy EMR that had no supported export path. I reverse-engineered the undocumented API, scripted a validated extraction of roughly 10,000 patient records, and found eight critical vulnerabilities along the way. No screenshots for this one, for obvious reasons.
